Sania seeded third in Tashkent Open

Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Oct 1 (UNI) After an eventful Korean Open, tennis ace Sania Mirza start her campaign here against a lowly Pauline Parmentier of France in the WTA tier IV Tashkent Open beginning tomorrow.

Sania, ranked 59 in the World, is seeded behind Maria Elena Camerin of Italy (47) and Elena Vesnina of Russia (51).

The Hrderabadi player comes to Tashkent after a quarter-final finish in the Korean Open at Seoul, losing to Spaniard Virginia Ruana Pascual, after having beaten Martina Hingis in the previous round.

She's expected to arrive here tomorrow and will play her first-round match on Tuesday or Wednesday. Sania has not entered the doubles event.
