Rupchand praises ONGC activities

Agartala, Oct 1 (UNI) Chairman of Committee on Public Undertakings of Lok Sabha Rupchand Pal has appreciated the business operations of the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) in new areas like Palatana power project in Tripura's south district.

Mr Pal, who is here on a private visit on the request of the ONGC Tripura Project, today noted that the business operations undertaken by ONGC, especially in Palata Power Project, would bring prosperity.

He also appreciated the good work done by the company in the state for social activities.

Mr Pal came here to see ome of the technological demonstrations of the ONGC's Tripura Operations and praised the ONGC the country's most admired Public Sector Undertaking for its development activities in this state.

He said the emerging energy scenario arising out of current high crude prices in the country and stressed the need for dwelling deeper and committing to prepare ourselves for more realistic usage of alternative fuels.

''Traditional fuels like coal and gas from coal, as ONGC is attempting'', would provide important work around for ease on our fossil fuel constraints, Mr Pal added.
