PM remembers 'Munna Bhai'

Durban, Oct 1 (UNI) Referring to the recent Hindi blockbuster 'Lage Raho Munnabhai' which is based on Gandhian principles, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today said he was ''heartened'' to see recently a film about a young man's discovery of relevance of Mahatma Gandhi's message.

''...I was heartened to see recently that back home in India, the most popular movie this festival season is a film about a young man's discovery of the universal and timeless relevance of the Mahatma's message,'' the Prime Minister said in his speech without directly naming the film.

The Prime Minister was inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the Satyagrah alongwith South African President Thabo Mbeki.

Every generation had re-discoivered the relevance of Gandhi's message, the Prime Minister said at the function organised at the sprawling Kingmead Sahara stadium in the heart of Durban city.

Special screening of the film was recently held for Congress leaders.
