Muraleedharan welcomes CBI probe into Marad issues

Palakkad, Oct 1(UNI) Democratic Indira Congress-Karunakaran's (DIC-K) President K Muraleedharan said his party welcome the CBI inquiry on Marad issues.

Inaugurating the DIC(K)'s District Workers Convention here, he alleged that the previous UDF government had failed to take effective steps against extremist acitivities.

He said the UDF had failed on two counts after the Marad violence. The displaced people were kept on communal lines at the rehabilitation camps, which resulted in aggrevating communal feelings and leading to the second massacre, he charged.

He said the merger of the DIC(K) with NCP would be held after October 24 in Kochi.
