Jeev finishestied third at Tokai Classic
Shizuoka, Japan, Oct 1 (UNI) Play safe was the word and Jeev Milkha Singh carded a decent one-under 70 under tough conditions to finish an impressive tied third at the 120 million yen Coca Cola Tokai Classic 2006 golf tournament here today.
Jeev sank in a birdie on the either side of the turn as against bogey on the back nine n the final round today to aggregate two over 286. The Indian ace finished four shots off the winner, Hidemasa Hoshino of Japan who returned a superb four under card to take away the 24-million yen winner's cheque.
The UBS Asian Tour Order of the Merit leader, Jeev pocketed 5.1 million yen to futher cement his position at the top.
Overnight tied 12th, Jeev was watchful and seemed to playing for par before he carded his first bridie on the seventh hole.
On the back nine, he dropped a bogey on the 14th but recovered soon after with a bordie on the next.
Jeev shared the tied third spot with Nobuhiro Masuda, Ryuichi Oda, Camilo Villegas, Shingo Katayama and Hiroo Kawai.
