Heavy rains likely in coastal Karnataka

Pune, Oct 1 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in coastal Karnataka, Andman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Vidarbha, Gujrat, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Kerala.

They are also likely to occur at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Telangana, Rayalseema, interior and isolated places in West Bengal, Sikkim, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, east Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.

Dry weather will prevail over Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab and west Rajasthan.

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous over Vidarbha and has subdued over Arunachal Pradesh, east Uttar Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh.

Day temperatures were appreciably above normal in Uttaranchal Himachal Pradesh and northeast Rajasthan. They were above normal in Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir and southeast Rajasthan. However, they were normal in Punjab.

Night temperatures were below normal in Jammu and Kashmir and in some parts of Punjab. They were normal in Uttaranchal, west Rajasthan and were normal in Haryana.

Very heavy rains had occurred at most places in Vidarbha and Andman and Nicobar Isalnds.

Rain or thundershowers had occurred at most places in coastal Karnataka and at many places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Jharkhand, Konkan and Goa.

They also occurred at a few places in Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, west Madhya Pradesh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, interior Karnataka, Kerala.

Rain or thrundershowers at isolated places in Assam, Meghlaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Chhattisgarh, Gujrat, Saurashtra, Kutch, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu.

Dry weather prevailed over Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, east Madhya Pradesh and Lakshadweep.
