Gujarat Congress ungergoes administrative revamp

New Delhi, Oct 1 (UNI) The Gujarat unit of the Congress has been revamped with the party top leadership approving the names of 12 General Secretaries and an equal number of Vice-Presidents.

Girish Parmar, Raghavji Patel, Gaurav Pandya, Mahendersinh Muniya, Valjibhai Bagada and Mrs Mayaben Dave are among the 12 general secretaries whose names were approved by Congress President Sonia Gandhi.

The other general secretaries are Deepak Babariya, Khurshid Sayed, Zaver Balia, Nitin Shah, Nasrat Panja and Mrs. Dimple Gujar.

The 12 Vice-Presidents of the Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) are Savasibhai Makawana, Ms Shantaben Chavada, Bhikhubhai Varotriya, Surendrasinh Rajput, P D Vasava, J V Momin, Chandravadan Pithawala, Mrs. Ushaben Thakur, Jagdish Patel, Gabaji Thakur, Babaldas Patel and Ashok Punjabi.

Mr Balwant Singh Rajput is the new Treasurer of the GPCC while Mr Shaktisinh Gohil is the Chief Spokesperson.

The four spokespersons are Mrs Rekhaben Chowdhry, Himanshu Vyas, Jayanti Lal Parmar and Badruddin Sheikh.

The Congress President also approved the names of Divisional In-charge of North Gujarat, Central Gujarat, South Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, who will under the GPCC President.

They are: Virjibhai Thummer, MP, and Janak Singh Rana (North Gujarat), Ishwar Singh Chavada and Rajubhai Parmar (Central Gujarat), Mohan Singh Ratwa and Uday Singh Bariya (South Gujarat), Narahari Amin and Kadeer Pirzada (Saurashtra), and Naresh Rawal and Dr Karsandas Soneri (Kutch).
