Daniilidou beats Sugiyama in Korea Open final

SEOUL, Oct 1 (Reuters) Eleni Daniilidou of Greece beat Japan's Ai Sugiyama in the final of the Korea Open today, securing her fourth career singles title.

Daniilidou, ranked 58th in the world, defeated fourth-seed Sugiyama, the world 27, 6-3 2-6 7-6. It was her first title since the victory in 2004 in Auckland.

Sugiyama had beaten Daniilidou four times in previous six meetings, with her last win over the Greek player coming at the French Open this year.
