Constable commits suicide in Pune

Pune, Oct 1 (UNI) A constable at the Bharati Vidyapeeth Police Chowky committed suicide early this morning here.

Police said, the victim, identified as Santosh Laxman Khamkar(31), shot himself with his rifle early morning when his colleagues were busy with their morning ablutions. He has left no suicide note behind.

Khamkar showed no signs of depression. He appeared a little nervous during last couple of days but nothing serious happened for him to have taken such a step. He leaves behind a wife and a four year old son, police said.

Khamkar's body was taken to government-run Sassoon Hospital for post-mortem. A case has still to be registered in the matter, police added.
