Sugar prices rise on fresh demand
Mumbai, Sep 30 (UNI) Spot sugar prices rose on fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said today.
Sugar of small and medium grades went up by Re one and Rs four per quintal respectively on lesser stocks supply.
Sugar of ex-mill in small grade hiked by Rs ten per quintal on increase in fresh demand. But medium grade fell by Rs two per quintal on thin buying support.
Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,781/1,807, medium grade: Rs 1,800/1,855.
Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,750/1,780, medium grade: Rs 1,770/1,810.
