Malaria toll mounts to 102
Mainpuri, Sep 30 (UNI) Even as Japanese Encephalitis toll reached 191 in eastern parts of Uttar Pradesh, another vector-borne menace malaria has so far killed 102 people in Mainpuri district.
Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr K N Gupta said here today six fresh malaria deaths were reported in the last 48 hrs.
The victims were identified as Harendra (10), Mamta (13), Kanthshri (80), Pranshu, Renu and Aruna.
Meanwhile, cases of another deadly disease dengue are also being reported in the district.
Karhal community health centre in charge Dr Adesh Kumar said today Sunita (30) of Mainpuri city died of dengue yesterday.
At least 35 patients in Mainpuri, Kishni, Bebar, Ghigaur and Karhal blocks were undergoing treatment for dengue.
