New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) A 40-year-old maid fled with jewellery worth lakhs and some cash after drugging her employers in Civil Lines area of North Delhi this morning.

Laxmi allegedly laced the morning tea with drugs of her employers Siddhartha Chaddha (32), his wife Radha (26) and mother-in-law Pushpa (60) and escaped from their Yamuna Marg residence in Civil Lines with jewellery worth lakhs, according to sources.

''She also took away Rs 8,500 cash.'' The Chaddhas, who had a flourishing spare parts business, along with their mother-in-law were later admitted to the Trauma Centre in an unconscious state where they were recuperating.

The six-year-old son of the Chaddhas, Tavish, who did not take the drugged tea, was asleep at the time of the incident.

However, a senior police official refused to confirm that jewellery had been taken from the Chaddha's house.
