JK constituted committee to address SRTC's problems
Srinagar, Sep 30: The Jammu and Kashmir government has constituted a five-member Committee to look into the problems faced by the State Road Transport Corporation (SRTC).
Speaking at a joint meeting of officers of the transport Department and SRTC Union leaders, the Minister for Transport Hakim Mohammad Yaseen said the committee will consist of Commissioner Secretary Finance, Commissioner Secretary Transport, Managing Director SRTC besides two union leaders.
He directed the committee to submit its report within next 15 days adding that the government would later-on take a decision on the recommendations with regard to runing the corporation on profits, shifting of surplus staff to other departments and providing better facilities to the employees who would go on voluntary retirement.
The Minister asked the committee to consider the functioning of the neighbouring SRTCs while preparing its report.
