New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Police has arrested a former Commander of Delhi Home Guards for cheating several buyers including Delhi University teachers, under the guise of selling 'clean title' flats in Burari.

Accused Pawan Kumar Gupta (58), a former Commander (North and North-West) of Delhi Home Guards, had built the flats on the land which owed nearly Rs 24 lakh to Delhi Jal Board and it was was also booked by the MCD for building unauthorised floors.

Gupta sold the flats to his clients mentioning them that it was a 'clean titled' deal, said the police.

The arrest was made on the complaint of 24 'victims' who had paid between Rs 11-51 lakhs for the flats.
