Exfiltration bid foiled, security personnel injured in blast
Srinagar, Sep 30 (UNI) Police foiled a militant exfiltration bid when they arrested 10 militants in North Kashmir before they could cross over to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK).
Militants detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Sangam road in north Kashmir district of Anantnag today in which one security personnel was injured. He has been shifted to hospital, an official spokesman said.
He said police on a specific information apprehended a group of 10 youths from different villages of Handwara area in frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara last night, who were planning to exfiltrate to POK for getting arm's training.
Security forces apprehended a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant in village Thuru of Udhampur district alongwith a 12 bore gun and 12 electronic detonators last night.
He said police also arrested another HM militant identified as Mohammad Shaf from Kuriya in Doda district of Jammu region last night. Shafi had escaped from police custody on September 13.
Security forces recovered one pistol, three magazines, 15 rounds and one wireless set from Kunthal Chalkli forest area in Kandi Rajouri during search operation last evening.
