Chinese envoy calls for joint global leadership with India
New Delhi, Sep 30 (UNI) Half-a-century after 'Panchsheel', India and China should make another contribution to global harmony by jointly making a proposal to lead the world into a better place to live, Chinese Ambassador to India, Sun Yuxi, today said.
''Panchsheel made a positive impact in international relations.
We can carry on that tradition,'' Mr Sun said at an event organised by the India-China Friendship Association to mark the 57th anniversary of the People's Republic of China.
The Chinese envoy said the world needs harmony among the nations, people and environment. ''The rich should help the poor and the strong should help the weak,'' he said.
''This will be another positive contribution by China and India combined,'' he said as the audience at the Kerala House auditorium chanted 'Hindi Chini, bhai bhai'.
According to Mr Sun, the 2.4 billion people of both the countries could make their governments agree to the idea of leading the world into harmony.
Chinese President Hu Jintao is scheduled to arrive in India on November 20 to further strengthen the growing bilateral relations.
Several agreements are expected to be signed during his visit.
Among those who spoke on the occasion were India-China Friendship Association's national president K P Kosla Ram Dass and Delhi unit general secretary Shri Ram Sharma.
