BJS opposes Afzal clemency plea

Bhopal, Sep 30 (UNI) Uma Bharti-led Bharatiya Jan Shakti today strongly opposed the clemency plea made for Mohd Afzal Guru -- mastermind of the December 13, 2001 Parliament attack -- by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.

In a statement issued here, BJS Secretary Inder Prajapat said the clemency plea amounted to insult to the country's law besides its public.

Mr Prajapat described Mr Azad's statement as treachery and demanded that a case be registered against the Congress leader.
