BJP promises action against activists trading blows in HP
Shimla, Sep 30 (UNI) Taking a serious view of BJP activists trading blows during its organisational elections in Himachal Pradesh recently, the party today promised strict action against people involved in the incident.
''Strict action would be taken against all people involved in the September 28 incident,'' state party president Suresh Bhardwaj told UNI here today.
On Thursday, two groups of party activists traded blows among themselves with one group complaining of irregularities during organisational elections.
The incident took place in the presence of Mr Om Prakash Kohli, Chief Returning Officer of the party elections.
Observing that the incident was an internal matter of the party, he said people involved in the incident would, however, not be spared.
Meanwhile, state polling officer of the party, Ashok Sood, denied any incident of party activists trading blows during the electionm process.
The election process was largely peacefull and there was no incident of activists resorting to violence in the state anywhere, he said.
He said the party has completed the process of electing booth level office bearers and was now entering the next phase of electing mandal office bearers.
