Bank loans earmarked to common man
Vuyyur (Andhra Pradesh), Sep 30 (UNI) Indian Bank Manager Ramachandra Rao today said 44 per cent of the loans extended by the bank were earmarked for common man and 18 per cent for the agricultural sector.
Speaking on the subject 'Banks in the service of common man', in connection with 'Bharat Nirman public information campaign' here, he said under the 'Rythu Mitra' Scheme, small and marginal farmers were being extended loans for agriculture purposes.
He said Self Help Groups (SHG) could prepare schemes for the development of their village and implement them with the bank's contribution.
He said banks were extending loans for higher studies upto Rs four lakhs.
Mr Rao said full-fledged services of the bank would reach every corner of the country very soon.
