Total foreign reserves up USD 940 mn to USD 166.482 bn

Mumbai, Sep 29 (UNI) According to the weekly statistical report presented by the Reserve Bank Of India, the Total Foreign reserves grew by 940 million to US dollars 166.482 billion as on September 22, as compared to USD 165.542 billion last week.

The foreign currency assets also increased by USD 936 million to USD 159.175 billion as on September 22, as compared to the previous figure of USD 158.239 billion. Besides, maintaining the best international practice India's reserve position in the IMF grew by USD two million to USD 76.8 billion, as compared to the previous figure of USD 76.6 billion.

Total Bank Credit as on September 15 was Rs 16,07,518 crore. Out of this, food credit was put at Rs 36,396 crore, whereas the non-food credit was at Rs 15,71,122 crore.

Besides, the outstandings that accrued out of accommodation provided by the scheduled commercial banks to commercial sector in the form of bank credit and investment shares/debentures/bonds etc as on September 15 stood at Rs 1,03,579 crore.

Loans to the state governments as on September 22 stood at Rs 138 crore.
