Top players for DSCL Open National tennis

New Delhi, Sep 29 (UNI) Top players including Divij Sharan, who won the ITF Satellite Masters, besides Aditya Madkekar, J Vishnu Vardhan and Vivek Shokeen will be seen in action in the Re 6,75,000 DSCL Open National Tennis Championship to be played here from October 9 to 19.

Former National champion Isha Lakhani leads the ladies field, with Sandhya Nagaraj, Parul Goswami and Sonal Phadke also confirming their participation.

While the men's winner of this 15th edition will get Rs one lakh, the runner-up will get Rs 55,000. The ladies winner and runner-up will get Rs 80,000 and Rs 45,000 respectively.

According to the organisers over 1300 entries have been received for the event and the number did not include the doubles players.

Last year, there were more than 1600 entries.

In the first week, the men's, ladies', boys' and girls' under-18 matches will be held. Qualifying matches for the same begin on October 5.

In the second week, the under-16 and under-14 matches will be played. One big change this time is the main draw for Girls under-14, under-16 and under-18 has been increased from 32 to 48.
