TDP's Shaik Showkat wins by-election

Guntur, Sep 29 (UNI) Shaik Showkat of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) won the by-election from the third division of Guntur Municipal Corporation by a margin of 229 votes.

Of the total 3735 votes polled, Mr Showkat secured 1959 votes and his opponent Congress candidate Mastan Sheriff secured 1730 votes.
