Sugar prices up on better buying support

Mumbai, Sep 29 (UNI) Spot sugar prices went up on better buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said today.

Sugar of small and medium grades rose by Rs four each per quintal on reduced stocks supply.

Sugar of ex-mill in small and medium grades increased by Rs five and Rs two per quintal respectively on fresh demand.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,780/1,806, medium grade: Rs 1,800/1,851.

Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,750/1,770, medium grade: Rs 1,770/1,812.
