Rupee closes flat at 45.93 per USD

Mumbai, Sep 29: The rupee today closed flat at Rs 45.93 per US dollar as compared to the previous close of Rs 45.93 per USD, a money market trader said.

The stability in the Indian currency was due to strong market sentiments and FII inflows, which had increased in the past two weeks, he added.

Earlier, the domestic currency opened at Rs 45.92/93 per USD and in the mid-morning traded at Rs 45.94/95 per USD.

The Reseve Bank of India today fixed the reference rate at Rs 45.96 per USD, which was flat as compared to the previous rate of Rs 45.92 per USD.

The performance of the Rupee against other currencies however improved, against Euro it was up at Rs 58.07 (58.30), against Pound Sterling it was up at Rs 85.68 (86.10) and against Yen it was up at Rs 38.88 (38.98).
