Rana Sugars diversifies to produce Ethanol in Amritsar distillery

Mumbai, Sep 29 (UNI) Rana Sugars Ltd is set to diversifying into the production of Ethanol at its Distillery Plant in Amritsar district of Punjab.

In a notice to BSE, the company said it will add ethanol manufacturing unit in its distillery plant, which is running successfully with a capacity of 60 kilo litres (KL) per day.

Further, the company said that the diversification is to be done in view of the decision taken by the Government allowing mixing of 5 per cent of ethanol with petrol. The Ethanol Unit is to be set up with marginal modifications in the existing Distillery Plant.

With the implementation of the Ethanol project, the profitability of the company will be improved considerably, it added.
