Prez, PM greet people on Durga Puja

New Delhi, Sep 29: Warmly greeting the people on Durga Puja, President APJ Abdul Kalam, Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have said the festival symbolising the victory over evil is an inspiration to work for unity.

''On the joyous occasion of Durga Puja, I extend my warm greetings to all my people for their happiness and prosperity,'' Dr Kalam said in his message.

The festival of triumph of good over evil should inspire everyone to turn away from all that divides and destroys, he said adding it inspires ''us to work for the unity and well being of humanity and the nation''.

''This festival gives us inspiration to follow the path of righteousness,'' the Vice-President said in his message while wishing it will usher in harmony, peace and prosperity in the lives of the people.

The Prime Minister said through its profound message, the festival inspires humanity to lead a ''pious, virtuous and noble life''.
