Paes/Qureshi and Bhupathi/Ancic winner to get entry in finals

Mumbai, Sep 28 (UNI) The much awaited doubles quarterfinal between the pair of Mahesh Bhupathi/ Mario Ancic and Leander Paes/Aisam Qureshi scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed by a day following a rash of pull outs in the doubles section in the US 3,80,000 dollars Kingfisher Airlines Open tennis tournament being played at the CCI courts here.

The winner of Paes/Qureshi and Bhupathi/Ancic match would now directly enter the final following the pull out of Simon Greul and Denis Gremelmayr who had yesterday upset the second seeds Lukasz Kubot of Poland and Robin Vik of Czech Republic at 1-6, 6-4, 10-5 to book their place in semis due to a hip injury to Denis Gremelmayr.

The British pair of Jamie Delgado and James Auckland of Britain also got a walkover from Juan Martin Del Potro and Juan Monaco of Argentina in the doubles quarterfinals.

Del Potro who had conceded his second round singles match to Ramon Delgado when down 3-6, 1-4 due to a stomach ailment had to concede his doubles match along with his partner Juan Monaco to the British pair.

The British pair will now play against the Indian pair of Rohan Bopanna and Mustafa Ghouse for a place in the final.
