Notorious criminal killed in encounter

Darbhanga, Sep 29 (UNI) A notorious criminal was killed in an encounter at Bangali Tola area here last night, police said today.

District superintendent of police Amrit Raj said a police team challenged Saifullah alias Robin when he was fleeing along with his associates after stealing a motorcycle.

However, the criminals opened fire and in the ensuing gun-battle, Robin was killed on the spot but his associates managed to escape.

Raids were on to nab his accomplices.

According to the police, Robin was involved in more than 24 cases of murder, loot and kidnappings. A sophisticated pistol and some live cartridges were also recovered from the spot during the operation, the police added.
