Notification soon to eradicate regional imbalance: Kumaraswamy
Belgaum, Sep 29 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today asserted that his government was committed to eradicate regional imbalance in the North Karnataka region, comprising Hyderabad-Karnataka and Mumbai-Karnataka, and a notification to this effect would be issued soon.
Addressing a press conference at the end of a special session of the state legislature here, he said the report of the Nanjundappa Committee on regional imbalance had all along been used only for political purpose. But, this coalition Government was committed to implement the report, he added.
Referring to a remark by the Governor on the law and order situation in Bangalore, Mr Kumaraswamy said compared to other cities in the country, the situation in Bangalore was much better.
Thanking everyone, including the media, for supporting the government's decision to hold a historic special session of the Legislature in Belgaum, he said Suvarna Soudha, a permanent arrangement to hold Legislature session here annually, would be ready in another 18 months. Officials have been instructed to find a suitable place for the purpose within 15 days, he added.
