Monica Bedi's conviction disturbs Salem

Mumbai, Sep 29: Extradited Underworld don Abu Salem today looked crestfallen after he heard that his accomplice Monica Bedi had been convicted.

When Salem was produced before the TADA Judge P D Kode along with his associate Riyaz Siddique for an extension of his judicial remand, he learnt about the conviction of Bedi. Subsequently, he appeared quite disturbed.

Clad in apair of jeans and a light green-coloured shirt, a clean-shaven Salem looked at senior public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam and the Judge, then went and sat in the seat meant for the accused.

A CBI, Special Court in Hyderabad today convicted Bedi and three others in a forged passport case. However, two others have been acquitted two others.

Bedi was extradited from Portugal on November 11 last year, along with Abu Salem.
