Milan midfielder Gourcuff out for three weeks

ROME, Sep 29 (Reuters) AC Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff is expected to be out of action for about three weeks after badly bruising a rib, the Serie A club said today.

The 20-year-old France under-21 international, bought from Rennes during the transfer window, suffered the injury during training for Tuesday's 0-0 Champions League draw against Lille.

He will miss Serie A matches against Siena and Sampdoria, but should be ready to return for Milan's home game against Palermo on October 22.

Gourcuff has made three appearances for Milan so far and scored once -- in a 3-0 win over Champions League rivals AEK Athens.
