Mamata Banerjee's condition stable,CM wishes speedy recovery

Kolkata, Sep 29 (UNI) West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee today wished ailing Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, a speedy recovery.

'' I wish your speedy recovery, '' he said in a brief message.

However, yesterday CPI(M) state secretary Biman Basu refused to give credence to the ailment of the leader.

Meanwhile, the condition of Ms Banerjee was stable but unchanged.

According to a medical bulletin issued by the nursing home quoting doctors attending on AITC leader, as Ms Banerjee complained of continuous pain in her chest, a number of medical tests had been conducted on her besides the ECGs and MRI scan to diagnose the exact nature of her condition.

But as she still complained of pain, the doctors advised her complete rest for the next few days, the bulletin said.

Ms Banerjee was admitted to the city nursing home in the wee hours yesterday following complaints of chest pain and breathlessness.

She was on oxygen supply and saline even as doctors said her condition was stable.

The Trinamool Congress had alleged that the leader's ailment was the result of the injury she suffered at the hands of police during a demonstratinon against distribution of compensation cheque among the farmers at Singur on September 27.

The demonstration was held to protest against the acquisition of agricultural land for setting up Tata Motor's small car factory.
