Kite show enthralls Mysore Dasara tourists
Mysore, Sep 29 (UNI) Dotting the skyline of the heritage city during the famous Dasara season, hundreds of kites competed with each other to catch the attention of the visitors, today.
The State-level kite festival, organised by the Karnataka Janapada Parishat and Kite Clinic Club of Bangalore, attracted huge crowd at the Dasara exhibition grounds. The event was inaugurated by Parishat Chairman G Narayan at a function, presided over by district incharge Minister D T Jayakumar.
Kites in various colours, shapes and sizes could be seen at the festival. There were also kites depicting the National Tricolour, those with messages about conserving nature and anti-terrorism, Mysore Palace, Jumboo Savari, shapes of snake, conch and spiderman vying with each other to catch the attention of viewers.
While a 12X12 painting of 'Mahishamardhini' was the largest kite, a series of 100 kites bearing the pictures of Goddess Chamundeswari, the principal deity of Mysore, in different postures was the longest.
