HC transfers murder, rape cases to CBCID
Chennai, Sep 29 (UNI) Madras High Court today ordered the transfer to CBCID, the investigation into the case relating to the murder of a minor boy and rape of the two minor girls.
Mr Justice R Raghupathy ordered the transfer of investigation to CBCID on a petition filed by M Ramalingam, father of the deceased and rape victims.
In his petition, Mr Ramalingam submitted that he was working as a librarian in a Government Arts College and his wife was working as a nurse in a Primary Health Centre.
On October 4, 2002 before leaving for his work, he brought his niece Sangeetha (12) to his house as she was on holidays.
He left for work at 0930 hrs. At about 1100 hrs, the accused Jayakumar came to the house and tried to rape Sangeetha and his daughter Navaneetha (13). His son Manikandan (8) who was present in the house, raised an alarm.
The accused slit the boy's neck and dumped him in the bathroom, and the boy died. At knife-point, Jayakumar raped the minor girls.
After committing the crime, he inflicted injuries on their neck also. After obtaining a complaint from his daughter Mr Ramalingam, registered a case in the Sirkazhi Police Station on October 4, 2002 under section 452, 342, 376, 307 and 302 of IPC. However, no probe was carried out.
