Four arrested for involvement in 7/11 train blasts
Mumbai, Sep 29: The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) sleuths, who are investigating the 7/11 Mumbai blasts, have arrested four more people for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to plant explosives in trains.
Joint Commissioner of Police K P Raghuvanshi confirmed the arrest and said the four - three from Mumbai and one from Kolkata - were arrested in connection with the blasts. However, he declined to give any further details.
With their arrest, the total number of arrested persons has gone up to 13.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammed Shafi, Mohammed Majid and Sheikh Abdul Wahid (from Mumbai), while the fourth accused, Mohammed Sajid, was picked from Kolkata.
In the serial train blasts, nine persons have already been arrested. Among them, four were booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control for Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
More than 200 were killed and over 700 were wounded in July 11 train blasts this year.
