Finnish Ambassador calls on TN CM
Chennai, Sep 29 (UNI) Finnish Ambassador to India Asko Numminen today said a number of Finnish companies were interested in investing in Tamil Nadu.
Mr Numminen, who called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi at the Secretariat here, told reporters the progress made between Finland and the state in the field of industries and investments was discussed at the meeting.
Stating that global major Nokia, which set up a manufacturing facility at Sriperumbudur near here in March last, was on expansion mode, he said the prospects of other companies coming to Chennai was very good.
The envoy said he also discussed with Mr Karunanidhi the prospects of cooperation in other fields including science and technology.
Mr Numminen was accompanied by M C T P Chidambaram, the Finnish Honorary Consul General, Chennai.
