Epidemic claims 32 lives in Arunachal
Itanagar, Sep 29 (UNI) Epidemic like disease has claimed 32 lives so far in East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
State Public Works Department (PWD) and Urban Development (UD) Minister Nabam Tuki, who was on a weeklong visit to the district, has instructed the district medical officer to visit the villages in Pakke-Kessang valley to control the epidemic, official sources said.
Mr Tuki also assured to take up the matter with the Health minister immediately so that necessary measures could be taken to prevent the situation from aggravating.
A medical team from the district hospital, Seppa, has rushed to the affected Pakke-Kessang valley but the epidemic like situation is yet to be brought under control, sources said adding the team is facing acute shortage of supportive staff, medicines and equipment.
