Czechs call up another Cech for Euro qualifiers

PRAGUE, Sep 29 (Reuters) Czech Republic coach Karel Brueckner called up uncapped Slovan Liberec goalkeeper Marek Cech today for the Euro 2008 Group D qualifiers against San Marino and Ireland next month.

Marek Cech will serve as a backup to first choice Petr Cech. The 29-year-old has been in good form in the Czech first division, keeping seven consecutive clean sheets before the sequence was ended last weekend by a controversial penalty.

Striker Milan Baros, who last played for the Czechs at the World Cup in Germany, returns after foot injury.

The Czechs play against San Marino in Liberec on October 7 and Ireland in Dublin four days later.
