Court directed to submit investigation document in SRA case
Mumbai, Sep 29 (UNI) A Special ACB court here today directed the prosecution to produce the original investigation document before the court tomorrow in the 2001 Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme case.
Special ACB court judge P N Deshmukh completed the hearing of the bail plea of all the seven persons arrested by the anti-corruption bureau in connection with irregularity in the scheme today.
Meawhile, the court had deferred the hearing of anticipatory bail plea of six others which included developers, SRA and municipal officials in the same case fearing arrest to October six and extended the interim relief given to them from the arrest.
Those who approached the court for bail included Subhash Velji Chawda (architect), Netaji Gopichand Shinde (chief promoter), Subhash Parulekar (rtd rent collector), Sudin Baba Achrekar (colony officer), Jayant Joshi (rtd senior colony officer), Sanjay Joshi (SRA assistant accounts officer) and Suresh Gunjal (SRA clerk).
The ACB had initiated the arrest following a private complaint filed by one Arun Ramavatar Pathak last year alleging that there were irregularities in the distribution of flats under the SRA scheme.
He also stated that in 2001, Siddhi Vinayak Cooperative Housing Society under the SRA scheme, the developers with the connivance of the officials indulged in irregularities and made allotments to 95 fictitious tenants.
