Congress hails SC decision on sealing
New Delhi, Sep 29: The Congress today welcomed the interim decision of the Supreme Court upholding the Centre's notification amending the Master Plan and allowing mixed land use.
The party applauded the sustained efforts made by the Congress-led UPA government and the NCR government to provide succour to the affected people.
Congress Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi told reporters here that the UPA government had through its efforts sought to harmonise a balanced growth and maintenance of the quality of life of the citizens.
"It is this humane and realistic proposal of the UPA government which was accepted by the Supreme Court in its interim decision in public interest,"he said.
Mr Singhvi said the Delhi Congress-led government had always been sensitive to the needs of the "aam admi". The Supreme Court's interim decision had given relief to lakhs of people, he pointed out.
