Chaotic situation prevailing in country: Shanta
Hoshiarpur, Sep 29 (UNI) National BJP vice president Shanta Kumar today strongly criticised the Congress-led UPA government, saying the Centre lacked determination in handling ''the chaotic situation prevailing in the country''.
''Heavy increase in political corruption and price hike of essential commodities have added fuel in all the problems being confronted by the country,'' he said, alleging that the government had failed on all fronts.
Mr Shanta Kumar was talking to media persons at the residence of Mr Vijay Aggarwal, President of the BJP district unit, here this afternoon.
He said it was the decision of the UPA government to restart the recitation of 'Vande Mataram' in all institutions, but later it backed out due to lack of determination and politics of votes.
This had caused unnecessary controversy on this issue, he said.
''Vande Mataram is a national song whoih inspired the people to joing the freedom struggle and this song does not belong to any particular single community,'' he said.
BJP had now started a campaign to make awareness among the people to restart its recitation for the national unity and integration, he added.
Mr Shanta Kumar strongly condemned the constituents of UPA government, especially the Congress for ''its weak policies causing serious threat for the country's security''.
He said that more than three crore foreigners, majority of whom were Bangladesh nationals, were illegally settled in India.
