Centre clears Hassan medical college
Bangalore, Sep 29 (UNI) The Centre has cleared the opening of the Hassan Institute of Medical Sciences, with a capacity of 100 seats, from this academic year, Karnataka Public Works Department Minister H D Revanna said today.
Talking to reporters here, he said that with the Union Health Ministry giving its approval today, admissions would begin from tomorrow itself and phase-II work in the college would begin soon.
Regarding land acquisition for building a Secretariat in Belgaum following the Government's decision to make Belgaum session an annual affair, Mr Revanna said land was available in three places in the city and the government would identify one of them. The Secretariat would be constructed at a cost of Rs 240 crore.
The next Cabinet meeting would discuss and decide on the details of the structure of the Vidhan Soudha, he said, adding that a decision would also be taken on making the proposed Secretariat a multi-purpose building.
