Indore, Sep 29 (UNI) The Caparo Group of prominent NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul, will invest Rs 80 crore in its Dewas unit, recently acquired from Steel Tube of India, to make it a world class model plant.
Lord Paul, while interacting with the faculty and students at Indian Institute of Management IIM Indore on Wednesday, said the plant's production capacity would be trippled in two years from the 50,000 tonnes at present.
He was accomapnied by his son and Caparo Group Director Mr Angad Paul.
Mr Paul, however, said his prime interest in Madhya Pradesh for the last 10 years has been education. He is currently the Chancellor of two top British universities, and they are currently in the process of setting up an Institute of Engineering and Manufacturing Excellence at his birth place at Jalandhar in Punjab, which will be admitting students from the next academic year.
The Caparo Group, a $1.5 billion company, is also the largest British company held by a single shareholder.
