Bus plunges into river; 13 killed

Sidhi, MP, Sep 29 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and 40 others wounded when a private bus flipped off a bridge into the Kachni river under the Baithan police station area of Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh today.

The accident occurred about 100 km from the district town around 1230 hrs when the private bus plying on Baithan-Mada route plunged into the river.

Additional Superintendent of Police B S Chouhan said 13 bodies had already been recovered, while the injured were being treated at Baithan hospital.

He said divers were engaged in the search for more victims, if any, as the water level of the river was high.

The district collector and other senior officials were camping at the scene.
