Bus falls into river; 13 killed

Sidhi(MP), Sep 29 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and 40 others injured when a private bus fell from a bridge into the Kachni river in Baithan police station area of Sidhi district in Madhya Pradesh today.

The accident took place about 100 Km from the district town around 1230 hours when the private bus plying on Baithan-Mada route fell into the river.

Additional Superintendent of Police B S Chouhan said 13 bodies had already been recovered, while the injured were being treated at Baithan hospital.

He said divers were engaged in the search for more victims, if any, as the water level of the river was high.

The district collector and other senior officials were camping at the spot.
