BCA issues NOC to Zaheer

Vadodara, Sep 29 (UNI) Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) has issued a no objection certificate to its speedster Zaheer Khan to facilitate his transfer to Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Zaheer, who shifted from Mumbai to Baroda in 1999 to start his first class cricket career and subsequently proved himself as India's main strike bowler, had applied for NOC from the BCA after he recently received an offer from MCA to join the Mumbai team for the forthcoming Ranji season.

Talking to UNI today, BCA joint secretary Rakesh Parikh said Zaheer was the lone senior player who had opted for change of side prior to the September 30 deadline to apply for transfer, and the player had been issued the NOC as per his request.

Describing Zaheer's decision as a severe jolt to the Baroda Ranji team, senior cricketers of the city have held the BCA squarely responsible for this.
