Astami might be pleasant for Kolkatans

Kolkata, Sep 29 (UNI) A few drizzles in the daytime played the spoilsport for the pandal hoppers but with the passage of time the weather gradually looked up enabling a sea of humanity to mingle in an ocean of joy on the Mahasaptami.

Met officials forecast a few spells late in the night in isolated areas.

They had also said heavy rain to occur at several places in the coastal areas of West Bengal and Orissa, along with Tripura and Jharkhand.

However, the festive hoppers could breathe a sigh of relief as the weathermen have predicted no or less rain on Mahaastami tomorrow.

The maximum temperature recorded today was 31.4 degree Celsius and the minimum 27.4 degree Celsius.

The relative humidity recorded was 95 per cent.
