Action against schools which went against Kannada
Belgaum, Sept 28: Karnataka Government will take serious action that those schools which went against teaching Kannada upto fifth standard after 1994 order.
Replying to a debate of nearly Four hours, State Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti said, the government would come out with a final dicision on the issue after considering the suggestions given by the honourable members.
Earlier, participating in the discussion, Leader of Opposition H K Patil said the government has failed in timing its decision to derecognise these schools. He suggested to constitute a Five-member house committee headed by senior member N Tippanna to submit a report suggesting the nature of action against defaulting schools.
Mr Horatti said the cabinet would soon take a decision on considering teaching of "English" as a subject from Standard One though the medium of instruction would be in Kannada.
