ABVP leaders' judicial custody extended till Oct 13
Ujjain, Sep 29 (UNI) A local court today extended till October 13 the judicial custody of six ABVP leaders, including its state president Shashi Ranjan Singh Akela and Organising Secretary Vimal Tomar, who were arrested on the charge of murdering Madhav College Professor H S Sabharwal last month.
Judicial Magistrate R C Madia, who had earlier remanded them till today, extended the remand by 14 days.
Other ABVP leaders on remand include Hemant Dube, Pankaj Mishra, Sudhir Yadav and Vimal Rajoria.
The CID had been entrusted with the investigation into the 'murder' of Prof Sabharwal during violence after the postponement of students union elections on August 26.
Two other cases were registered for humiliating and blackening the face of Prof M L Nath and for rioting. A total of 38 people, including 13 of the ABVP and 25 of the NSUI, had been arrested in this connection.
