BJP demands resignations of E Ahamed and Vinod Sharma
New Delhi, Sept 28 (UNI) Soon after a Judicial Commission in Kerala named Indian Union Muslim League responsible for the communal unrest in Marad village which claimed 14 lives in 2003, the BJP today demanded the resignation of its representative in Union Cabinet Mr E Ahamed, Minister of State for External Affairs.
BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said that it was for the first time the UPA government had allowed legitimacy to Muslim League, a party which which was responsible for partition of India by including it in the Union Council of Ministers. This party was a marginal player in Kerala and now that the Judicial Commission had indicted it, Mr Ahamed should quit the government, he said.
He also demanded the resignation of Haryana Energy Minister Vinod Sharma for his confession in a sting operation that he had bribed the witnesses in the Priyadarshini Mattoo murder case to retract their statements to save his son who was arrested for the crime. "The case should be reopened and Mr Sharma should not be in the government", Mr Prasad said.
